Gingrich: Obama is engaged in "Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior"

Citing a recent Forbes article by Dinesh D'Souza, former House speaker Newt Gingrich tells National Review Online that President Obama may follow a "Kenyan, anti-colonial" worldview.

Gingrich says that D'Souza has made a "stunning insight" into Obama's behavior -- the "most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama."

"What if is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together ?" Gingrich asks. "That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior."

"This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president," Gingrich tells us.

"I think he worked very hard at being a person who is normal, reasonable, moderate, bipartisan, transparent, accommodating -- none of which was true," Gingrich continues. "In the Alinksy tradition, he was being the person he needed to be in order to achieve the position he needed to achieve . . . He was authentically dishonest."

4. "Anti-colonial" ??
God, Newt, get your head out of your patoot, would you?

It's the colonial impulse that has prompted such distrust and contempt for our country around the world. If Barack Obama -- or anybody else -- is "anti-colonial," that's to the better.

It's important to get along with our neighbors across the world. The planet is a lot smaller now than it was in "colonial" times.

47. I'd bet any amount of money that he's counting on idiots who don't know what "colonial" means.
For the Teabagger types, that means something like "American, at the time of the Revolution," and calls to mind Colonial Williamsburg.

It's sailing right over their heads that the American Revolution could be described as "anti-colonial."

And Newt's hoping they buy the "born in Kenya, anti-American" intimation.

11. Somebody please explain to me....
Before I came to DU this morning, I was reading a piece that mentioned "the disgraced John Edwards." Can somebody explain to me why nobody refers to this scum-sucking slimebag, Gingrich, as "disgraced"? He cheated on his cancer-stricken wife, just as Edwards did. Edwards was condemned and his political career ended over it. Meanwhile, here's Gingrich, more than a decade later, and everyone is hanging on his every word. They're even suggesting that this putrid creature stands a chance at becoming President. And, he never got anywhere near the condemnation Edwards got, let alone having his political career terminated over it. Nor did Diaper Dave Vitter or John Ensing. WTF?????

Oh, wait. IOIYAAR. Never mind.

P.S. Please let this be his "jumping the shark" moment.

You can be a disgrace to the country, your wife, your family, yourself and humanity, but no one will call you on it if you're a Republican. Your life will go on and, in some cases, get far, far BETTER. ONLY if you're a Democrat will your life be over. ONLY.

Funny how that works.

Who knew that Kenya had annexed Hawaii? </sarcasm> Seriously, b/c his dad was Kenyan, that magically transmitted "Kenyan beliefs and values" into him? Obama's carrying on some of the same policies that G.W. Hoover did while in office, such as bank bailouts and continuing on the two wars of choice, and now, with congress, have instituted the Republinazi '93 health care plan; does that make G.W. Hoover a secret Kenyan? I wish nazi party members would put down their crack pipes.

Obama is 'different', 'other', African!, Muslim, etc, etc. - and what's under all that is the 'n-word' for these people. They'll deny it, but it's the sad truth.

And btw - WHAT billboard are you talking about? The OP is about a quote from Gingrich:

Today, Fox News contributor Newt Gingrich took this campaign to new levels, reportedly telling the National Review that Obama has pretended to be "normal" but that Obama actually seems to be engaged in "Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior"

Gingrich is one of the U.S.'s absolutely worst "thinkers" <-- being generous using that word in even the same sentence with Newtie.

It's my sincere belief Gingross Jumped the Shark a LONG time ago...

71. Since when did "Alinsky" become synonomous for "Machivelli"?
Alinsky never espoused lying. He believed in techniques which exposed the opposition for the people they are.

73. If only that were so....

mebbe the US would be standing down from it's self imposed planetary hegemony. Sadly that is not the case and Gingrich is even more blatantly squirrelly than usual.

74. No, this is a clear sign that Gingrich sees no downside in being as gross and xeonophobic
as imagination allows--and beyond. He knows his audience very well and he's playing right to them.
