24. I drove a Challenger on 5 hour trip recently -
it is definitely a hot car, fun to drive and nicely styled interior too. I only rented it, so had to give it back, even though I didn't want to. ;-)

29. We rented a Challenger several years ago for a 2,000-mile trip. It was an effing blast.
And the mileage is decent for its power, although mileage is of course not the primary reason one would buy it. ;)

It amazes me how DU as a whole no matter what the tread is if it involves American cars, you folks have to interject how much you love your Foreign crap. And make it a point to knock the shit out of our industry.

It just sucks.

although this wiki claims that it's based on the Mazda 626 platform:

Either way, it is beside the point.

34. I always love the "penis enhancement" types of responses. Proves
that some folks just don't get that a certain group of people actually happen to LIKE cars and the performance that can come from them. Got a Corvette/Porsche/big V8? Must have a tiny dick. Right.

Maybe it's because we actually ENJOY our wheels and driving. Some of us would curse every single moment behind the wheel of some South Korean econo-shitbox. Pissing ourselves every time we try to pass a slower vehicle, winding the hell out of some anemic 80 horsepower lump of plastic.

Some of us (I suppose, according) had penis issues as children. I don't know if my dad had Playboys, but I knew where the Car & Driver mags were. 10 years old, lusting after Ferraris. 16, bought my first car...a Mustang. Next car was a Z28, then on to a couple Corvettes. Oddly enough, my girlfriends of that time never mentioned any problems with my equipment below the belt.

Considering the number of Lamborghini Countach posters that were sold in the 80's to kids, I guess there's a whole LOT of us out there.

But then I guess for the computer folks, maybe the hottest new chip from AMD or Intel is *just* penile enhancement. Anyone wearing a Rolex or an Omega? Watches for the penis misfortuned, must be.

23. That is a cool commercial.
Truly I have just started watching a British series of movies. The first one is called Sharpe’s Rifles. It is about a British Sergeant fighting in Spain that gets a field promotion to the officer ranks and the discrimination from the other British Officers that follows. In those days British Officers were from the Upper Class and Sharpe is not. Sharpe is called that, “son of a Cat Street whore and born in a brothel.”
The lead is played by Sean Bean and it is a wonderful series.

30. Too ridiculous to be patriotically/sentimentally stirring.
Yet, too sappy to be truly funny.

They should have played up the second half of the commercial for laughs.

It would have been much better if they would've dropped the Ken Burns-like fiddle music during the charge and put some high energy, modern music in there.

And, show George looking like he's having a good time driving the car instead of grim, stoic, determination.

Edited on Mon Sep-13-10 02:40 PM by guitar man
of the 63 fury, it was white, nice looking car. The only problem it had was no reverse, the pushbutton shift for the reverse gear never worked, I just got used to parking where I could drive out forward.

I also had a '69 Newport Custom, 383. It was a hell of a nice old passenger car, and a 76 Chrysler Cordoba. It had the 400 big block, motor was burned up ehrn I bought it so I slipped in a 383 magnum I bought at a salvage from a wrecked Super Bee

53. My Sport Fury had a busted starter for about four months..
It was a four speed so I just got in the habit of parking where I could roll and bump it off, forward or reverse didn't make any difference, it fired up every time. :)

Buddy of mine had a Monaco Police Interceptor with the 440 he bought from an auction, that was a wicked car, reminds me of the the one in the Blues Bros, when Elwood jumps the opening drawbridge..

Yeah those cop cars were wicked, had a buddy that bough a Fury III police interceptor at auction, it had the cop version of a 426 max wedge in it and it would literally outrun anything on the road

At the founding, with slavery and the treatment of women?

After the civil war? Jim Crow, Women? Insians? Asians?

2010 want MY COUNTRY back because of a black president???
