Is it just me, or is this Christine O'Donnell scary? |
|
I was reading about her and laughing along with everyone else, but then I saw her talking on tv last night and she sounds like exactly what Republicans will go crazy for. She sounded like a slightly less doofy Sarah Palin - and she ran for VP of this country not that long ago.
I think it would be unwise to discount her - just like it was unwise to discount Palin.

1. As crazy as she is, she can come across quite well & quite sane... |
|
I heard a clip from her first debate performance and frankly, she handled the question of her masturbation comments quite well.
All, I can say is Delawarean DUers and other progressives need to get out there...

and when you actually watch that clip, she looks pretty young and wide-eyed. It's been awhile. We will see this more and more in the future - my generation and younger, everything we have ever done or thought or said is on the internet, and the world will hear about it when we run for office. I think prior foolish comments might become less important to people as this happens.
She is nuts, no argument there, but she doesn't strike me as quite as dumb as Palin and that's scary because dumb as she is, Palin has been wildly successful with even some moderates.
The more tired voters get of the same old Washington bs, the more appealing these wacky candidates will become.

After she loses, I fear we will have another one on our hands.

She was selected for a #2 slot on a ballot by a candidate who goes whichever way the wind blows.

6. O'Donnell has warned against human-mouse hybrids, |

suggesting (I guess) that scientists have created mice with human brains.
The reverse is the case with O'Donnell.
Yes, she is scary.

26. I'd say you were joking, but in the case of Pristine Christine, I can see that line being |
|
so very blurred. Her prattle on the subject almost suggests that she is talking about FFA.
I'm not exaggerating, either--and you may or may not have been.

In our electoral system, money talks. Money talks loudly. Even though I don't live in Delaware, I'm going to send some money to Chris Coons.

Wishful thinking, I know. But a guy can hope, can't he?

|
for big things...Palin without the family baggage? It scares me that so many on the right take her seriously while so many of us do not. Fortunately, her Democratic opponent seems to take her seriously and I hope will win this race...But I am afraid we will see more of her in the future, maybe on Fox?
And, as I keep repeating, I never believed anyone would be crazy enough to vote for Reagan for governor of California, either, and look how that turned out...
Evidently, there is hardly anyone too crazy or stupid for the GOP to endorse.

This next election will be a pivotal turning point in this country and many of us will be quite aware of the future consequences. It's like the other shoe finally dropping. The last 30 years of Republicans systematically destroying this country is prologue. As far as I'm concerned whatever our country will evolve to be is going to be clinched in this election.
Truth is a good thing to know. It may be painful and cause great grief, but at least it's the truth.

|
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 08:25 AM by BrklynLiberal
As Rachel Maddow said last night on her show..There are FIVE people running for Congress who do not believe in abortion, even in the cases of rape and/or incest! That includes Ms Palin-Minime and other women. Just proves that one does not have to be a man to be a misogynist. They are waaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaay beyond merely Stockholm Syndrome. They are more like Stepford Candidates or something that is the result of a "1984" scenario.
WTF does that tell you???

18. Palin is probably America's most well known Loser and Quitter. |
|
While all those that should be in a loony bin love her, hopefully most Americans haven't yet gone over the edge..There is no doubt in my mind though that more and more Americans are becoming unstable mentally. I mean really, not just borderline, but no longer living in the realm of reality..The trend seems to be escalating instead of deminishing. A country with so many guns slipping into insanity is not a good situation..I think we are witnessing information overload.. and it does not bode well for this country.

19. Big mouth politics... |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 09:28 AM by Javaman
If you ever go to a town hall meeting or some sort of community meeting there is always one complete jackass that screams and yells for the most ridiculous propositions.
They annoy everyone in the room who are actually trying to do constructive work.
One person could say, "I'm really concerned about handicap people having proper access to public transportations". then the jackass stands up and yells, "if it weren't for the commies we wouldn't need public transportation". Everyone pauses in shock, but yet the moron continues on with their rant, while everyone mumbles, "I wish that person would just shut up so we can get some work done", but no one stands up to this person because, it would be like pouring gas on the fire.
There is no arguing with fucking crazy. All it does is emboldens them to scream and yell more under the belief that they are being repressed or shut out.
The only way to get rid of these people is to treat them like they are the nuts they are; smile and nod. Express concern for their hair brained bullshit, then move on. They just want to feel as if they were heard. Actually following up on their insane demands is another thing entirely.
But rather than do that early on, people just mumbled to themselves and or argued with o'donnell. Thus resulting in her crazy ass run for office. She is a halfwit and the normal people out there know that. Come november she will be smiled at and looked upon with faux interested concern then promptly lose.
We will do that by voting.
She doesn't have the grifter like brains to survive like moron failin, so she will vanish into the haze of right wing insanity. Probably ending up as a spokes person for some right wing right to life group.

I don't think people are stupid enough to vote for either of them, as a whole. They both are way too batshit insane to vote for.
And if the masses do vote for insane woman in the fall, then they deserve to get what's coming to them.

27. I've got a theory that somehow this rise of interest by Americans |
|
in women candidates may be connected to a subconscious desire to turn to "mother figures" for guidance. Such behavior could be stemming from an extraordinary level of insecurity fueled by an array of fears, some well founded and others fabricated by outside influences.
