Five More Trees for the Fallen
FORT STEWART - A memorial to fallen soldiers was expanded Thursday as soldiers and family gathered to honor the lives of five more 3rd Infantry Division soldiers killed in Iraq.

Amid occasional rain and haze from the wildfires in southeast Georgia, they stood as each soldier's name was read aloud and granite markers were uncovered at each Eastern Redbud tree planted for the fallen.

"I'm humbled to speak of five great people, five great soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice," said Col. Todd Buchs, garrison commander at Fort Stewart. "They each answered their nation's call to duty, serving to protect what we all hold dear."

The trees dedicated Thursday bring the number of Eastern Redbuds at Fort Stewart's memorial, Warriors Walk, to 326.

The creature is a sociopath, incapable of empathy or sympathy.

10. I don't think it would matter.
Those of us who are on to him would just be more disgusted. His base would think he's being stoic, a manly man. Frankly, I'd rather have Fred Phelps there; at least he's honest about his purpose.

4. "He didn't want to go this last time," said Amanda Lewis, his wife and mother of four children.
From the story:

"We had just had a baby. She was a month and two weeks old when he left."

Devastating

16. They're old enough to have good memories to nurture.
The article mentions a baby sister who was just 6 weeks old when their father shipped out for the last time though.

She'll only stories and fading pictures.

11. This made me cry. Those poor girls. I want to hold them.
I remember when my dad died suddenly and unexpectedly when I was 17. I was totally devastated.
To this day nothing worse has ever happened to me and I've had a lot of bad stuff happen to me since.

13. I don't see Laura F@#king Bush or her bratty twins
Attending GI funerals, or working with the wounded at Walter Reed, or even trying to raise money for GI families.

Eleanor Roosevelt was a shy woman, too, but she had Class, something these twits will never possess in a brazillion years. Sheesh, the Bush women are as narcissistic and self-centered as their men. They just don't bother their wretchedly ugly little minds with the icky stuff.

At the rate Commander Cuckoo Bananas is going, there will eventually be enough Eastern Redbuds planted to soak up all the excess greenhouse gases from the entire atmosphere. :grr:
