Condoleezza Rice to campaign with Meg Whitman tonight

Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will appear at a fundraiser with Republican rival Meg Whitman tonight at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame.

Rice, now a professor at Stanford University, campaigned with Whitman during the Republican primary, as did other top GOP stars such as former presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Union groups, including the California Nurses Association and the California Teachers Association, are planning to protest the event. Expect an appearance by Queen Meg, played by actress Elaine Burn, a parody of Whitman that the nurses have staged at several of the candidate's events.

Gee, we all remember the Bush administration so very fondly, and Meg is cozying up to every hack and retread from that ruinous time. Is that what you want, California? Or are you interested in doing something different than what Queen Meg has in mind for you?

3. Between Whitman and Fiorina, I just don't get it.

Especially Fiorina. I worked at HP for a month and a half as a contractor during her "reign" and in my entire career I've never seen a more miserable bunch of people in my life. The final John Scully years at Apple come close...they were a bunch of whiners...but HP was just a collection of extremely unhappy people who never said much and went about their tasks with a complete absence of joy in any form.
