You got to be kidding! Blanche is losing more and more voters because she's acting like a Republican~ She fails to heed Harry Truman's warning.. that when a democrat acts like a republican they'd pick a real republican each time!

19. And do what when Pryor comes up for election?
People can jump up and down and throw rotten tomatoes at Lincoln and Pryor all they want. The problem in *that* state is the VOTERS. You won't elect a pro-gay candidate until people start confronting the attitudes in that state.

And while we're at it, maybe Mainers could quit pretending their two ladies are as good as Democrats too.

25. Wrong again.
We were on the way to replacing Blanche Lincoln until the White House and former DLC President Clinton
jumped into the fray on the side of the Anti-LABOR, Anti-Public Option, Proud Obstructionist Blanche Lincoln when there was a perfectly good Pro-LABOR Democrat available who was polling AHEAD of Lincoln at that time. The only thing more infuriating than seeing Obama's face on my TV campaigning FOR Lincoln against a Democrat is to read a smug post on DU blaming us for the failures of the Party Leadership.

The Democratic Party Leadership threw away this seat in Arkansas because they would rather have that seat go to a Corporate Friendly Republican than to go to an honest Pro-LABOR Democrat.

I live in Arkansas.
I campaign for Democrats here.
I work to bring true Working ClassFDR Liberalism here.
I never thought I would have to fight a Democratic White House and the elite Party Leadership in order to get traditional Democratic policies FOR Arkansas.

I see what kind of Democrats you elect now and have been electing. This is nothing new. Halter wouldn't have voted to repeal DADT either, no matter what the hell he said.

THANK YOU for working to bring Working Class FDR Liberalism to Arkansas. It is SORELY needed. But the job isn't done yet and that is the problem with Lincoln AND Pryor, and the rest of your Congressional delegation as well. Am I wrong? Is there anybody in the Arkansas Congressional delegation who will vote for the repeal?

"I've seen it happen time after time. When the Democratic candidate allows himself to be put on the defensive and starts apologizing for the New Deal and the fair Deal, and says he really doesn't believe in them, he is sure to lose. The people don't want a phony Democrat. If it's a choice between a genuine Republican, and a Republican in Democratic clothing, the people will choose the genuine article, every time; that is, they will take a Republican before they will a phony Democrat, and I don't want any phony Democratic candidates in this campaign.

But when a Democratic candidate goes out and explains what the New Deal and fair Deal really are--when he stands up like a man and puts the issues before the people--then Democrats can win, even in places where they have never won before. It has been proven time and again.

We are getting a lot of suggestions to the effect that we ought to water down our platform and abandon parts of our program. These, my friends, are Trojan horse suggestions. I have been in politics for over 30 years, and I know what I am talking about, and I believe I know something about the business. One thing I am sure of: never, never throw away a winning program. This is so elementary that I suspect the people handing out this advice are not really well-wishers of the Democratic Party."

Man, was she ever right!!!!

We are either equal OR we are not!!

So, when the courts overturn this stupid policy ----- ooops, already happened in California!!

And remember when John McCain ran for President just 2 years ago when he said he was against DADT, too?

22. Republican amendments?
Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine had been seen as the crucial 60th vote because she supports overturning the military ban. But Collins agreed with her GOP colleagues that Republicans weren't given sufficient chance to offer amendments.

What amendments would THEY possibly have to offer?

This is just disgusting.

23. The "amendment" argument is a pretext
Both Collins and McCain, as members of the committee, had every opportunity in committee to offer any and every amendment that entered their silly little heads. They're making an issue out of it now because they're more interested in scoring political points by denying Democrats a "victory." Shocking, I know, but apparently true. So people's civil rights under the constitution are nothing more than a political football for the Republicans, totally fungible in the service to the greater political game.

Keep THAT in mind, Republican lurkers. How soon might it be that your rights become inconvenient for the Republican agenda?

As for Blanche Lincoln, well, what can we say that we didn't already say during the Arkansas primary? Lincoln trimmed her sails a smidgen to fool some of the Democrats, and she was ably assisted by the political apparatus in Washington, right up to the White House. Those of us who though Lincoln was useless and that Bill Halter presented a good Democratic alternative were derided by any number of people. Oh, we'd soon see, we would, that Blanche Lincoln was the only reasonable choice by all the sensible Democrats. How do you like Blanche now, Rahm?

This is simple...full rights for citizens, period. If they don't get their rights, then
they don't have to pay taxes or observe any but the most fundamental conventions of law.
