You could do an almost identical chart in reverse: the American public cares about:
The huge column being 9-11 victims (who are not first responders, apparently) The next biggest column would be the troops - who we love, but don't want to pay benefits on Then would be the Fort Hood victims.. because we've mostly forgotten that Then those minuscule columns --- that's how much we care about civilian deaths of Iraqis or Afghans.

deaths for which they are largely responsible, I would shudder to think what it would say about us as a people, a civilization, a society, a country, a Republic: I would shudder to think what a just God might have in store for us. :shrug:
