Poll question: ON EDUCATION REFORM: Do the rich pushing it have our best interest at heart or making a buck? |
|
I'm trying to think of a recent policy that began with rich people lobbying the government for change that ended up being good for the working and middle class.
The education reforms they seem most interested in involve massive spending on redundant testing, busting teachers unions, and diverting kids and funding to private charter schools.
If rich people really wanted to help with education, wouldn't they demand that they be taxed at a higher rate, and teachers and researchers be consulted about how to improve education not private sector snake oil salesmen?
So which is it: are the rich really trying to help us or divert more of our tax dollars into their pocket?

2. Right on! They still need people to do the work they themselves wouldn't do. |
