French politician confuses inflation with fellatio

Ms. Dati, 44, made the embarrassing faux pas when she was being asked about overseas investment funds, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reports:

Asked about overseas investment funds profiteering during a period of economic uncertainty, she said: “I see some of them looking for returns of 20% or 25%, at a time when fellatio is almost non-existent.”

10. More a slip of the tongue than confusion. The two words are very nearly homonyms in French.
