Beck claims slavery was not really bad until government got involved
This has probably already been posted around here, but i missed it and haven't seen the posts so i thought i'd post it in case anyone else missed it!

http://www.examiner.com/political-buzz-in-national/glenn-beck-claims-slavery-was-not-really-bad-until-government-got-involved

"Glenn Beck continues to give his loyal listeners American history lessons, and the education they receive from "Beck University" grows more extreme each day. On Friday Beck went on a long rant "explaining" how health care reform is supposedly enslaving the American public. Then, in an attempt to explain the concept, Beck compares health care reform to the American system of slavery. According to Beck, slavery was not really evil and bad until the government stepped in to regulate it. It was at that point that owning people as property and all the other injustices of slavery became something to abhor."

4. Just more revisionist beck crap.
Unfortunately, most of his fans are so ignorant about history that they will believe his outright lies.

5. So rape, kidnapping of children and adults, genocide, persecution, murder, assault, forced labour,
robbery, uttering threats, etc.. was all okay before the government stepped in and regulated it?...........yup. I know Beck was going to have to find something more crazy as he used up the shock value of Hitler. So this is it? Slavery was fine... and what comes next Glenn? What's next?

7. What an absolute, unmitigated, horse's ass...
For the slaves shipped to America the Middle Passage alone was a horrific experience, not to mention everything that came after, including the breakup of slave families any time an owner needed money.

Beck should be whopped in the face with a nice-sized salmon.
