No, I am not enthused or excited about voting, but I will vote. That's for sure. |
|
And you know what? Once that ballot is cast it counts for exactly the same as some teabagger's vote who has been chomping at the bit to vote for months.
I'm so sick of the corporate media's bullshit.

1. Only volunteer time for those candidates you believe in. |
|
That is how I always work. The same goes for my family. It is understandable that people in the base of the party would not volunteer time for Blanche Lincoln, for example.

4. That's not how a likely voter screen works. |

So you're not enthusiastic or excited?
Please answer the following questions:
1) How much have you thought about the coming election? (I'd bet it's "quite a lot") 2) Do you know where to go to vote? 3) Have you ever voted there before? 4) How often do you vote (always, nearly always, etc)? 5) Do you plan to vote in this election? 6) Who did you vote for in the last election? 7) I'd like you to rate your chances of voting in the coming election from 1-10 where a one means that you will definitely not vote and a ten represents that you definitely will vote. (sounds like you're a ten).
Your post is based on a common mis-perception that the "enthusiasm gap" and the gap between "registered voter" and "likely voter" polls is the same thing. They are related terms, but they aren't the same thing.
If you answer six or seven of the questions above "correctly", you're counted as a likely voter (In Gallup's method - others weight you fully rather than proportionally)... regardless of whether you're enthusiastic about it. IOW... democrats who are model citizens and always vote... but who are discouraged about the state of the economy and/or the administration's performance... are still counted in likely voter polls.

5. I just voted happily to legalize marijuana! |
|
I also voted against a proposition to ignore air pollution control laws by the oil companies!
I also voted for Jerry Brown, Barbara Boxer, Barbara Lee and Gavin Newsom! Now excuse me while I go mail my ballots in.

6. I said I'd never vote for my Rep. again. |
|
He's a blue dog and he almost never votes with the Democrats on major legislation, but he has a teabagger running against him this time and the teabagger just might win. I'm not going to be skipping off to the polls, either, but I've gotta do what I've gotta do.

7. I'M MORE ENTHUSED THAN ANY TEABAGGER ANY DAY |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-09-10 02:53 PM by Johonny
Nothing the GOP has done the last two years has quelled my 2008 enthusiasm GOP just spent two year watering down or blocking every liberal attempt to fix this nation or ease the suffering brought to them by GOP policies. Now teapaggers are running on being proud of doing that and that they will create jobs and work for me after I elect them (What kind of insult is that). * them, I'm ready to for 70-80 Dems in the Senate! Filibuster that you do nothing *!

8. Nor am I. I'll vote Dem and for Obama in 2012. |
|
But I think the party is overrun by corporate money and the president is without vision or leadership and too timid and weak to take on the establishment.
Legislative accomplishments, list makers, do not equal success in the real world. The crises continue unabated.
