"Texas Golfing Buddies Fund Prop 23" - The Big Oil/Anti-Environment Proposition
This is just amazing. Texas based companies funding an oil industry sponsored proposition to kill environmental laws in California.

There’s a new scene in the battle over Proposition 23 in California -- a golf tournament in Texas.

Susanne Rust over at California Watch revealed yesterday in a blog post that nine of the 10 out-of-state companies that are backing Proposition 23 attended Valero’s 2009 charity golf tournament in San Antonio.

While Valero would not release the list of 2010 attendees to California Watch, it did confirm that most of the same companies attend each year. This year, the tournament ran from May 10 through May 16, while more contributions from out-of-state companies started arriving in support of the ballot proposition on May 14.

Before that, only two out-of-state companies, Valero and Tesoro, had contributed. The “Yes on 23” campaign has received more than $8.3 million since February, with almost $6 million of that coming from out-of-state companies since the golf tournament.
