4. Yah. And then there's that little white butterfly down in the mine. |
|
No engineer had anything to do with that. (Is somebody trademarking the white butterfly as we speak?)

the drill and many other Americans helped to get these men out. I believe NASA built the capsule.
I am waiting for the Republicans to attack President Obama about being proud of fellow American's unique skills.

11. Sadly that is standard leadership, |
|
In the US the military, fire and police get that. Graduates from the Wharthon school of Management or Harvard, not so much.

17. Leadership n Courage/wisdom/ tenacity is prevelent throughout the Nation |
|
Much of it is stifled by BULLIES of all stripes.....
But, the Leadership of the Nation should be the BEST...
Sadly, our system has them mega Holes in it allowing elections to be tampered with through a number of ways
Social engineering taken to an art level by those most able to fund it...the GOP and their Crew/Crowd....has taken us to the brink
Fight for your lives
DO NOT LET THE ASSHOLES BUY AMERICA FOR CHEAP

And they're all in perfect health! It's great to see so many from so many different walks of life come together, put aside differences, & work on the same goal.

If you refuse to recognize that as a miracle, & think less of those who do, then I pity you.

16. Well having worked in Rescue |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-13-10 08:56 PM by nadinbrzezinski
I get it. The work involved, the emotion...and most of the time, wait all the time, it happened in the shadows.
Oh and save your pity for somebody who actually gives a fuck.
Miracle is severely overused, but then again we live in a country where candidates for the Presidency are proud ton deny science. No wonder we are where we are. And yes "education reform" is partly to stop or slow down the spread of what some folks fear.
Now you want to believe it was a miracle by all means. Nobody is diminishing you. In my opinion the word is truly abused. Apparently I am not allowed my views. Well, fuck that!

Don't know why people think we're promised a rose garden. Just shows they don't know as much as they think they do.

25. So it is a miracle if things go well |
|
But shit happens if they don't. That must be a very American theology.
And by the way who promised what?
See the exploitation of the Earth... By us... Based on a pretty well known section of a book written by people, yes we know that, anywhere from the Bronze age to the Late Roman Empire. It is time we evolve and that includes religion. Yes we may need it for biochemical reasons, but it is doing a lot of damage to our society. I know this is heretical thinking by the way.

Would have been the engineers I tell you. God creates miracles and humans create disasters. I guess humans ARE the devil, I tell you.
I remember my late night discussions with a Jesuit seminarian. They were highly enjoyable. But he also would agree the word miracle is over used. Yep, we went there and that famous miracle in Midland Txs... He credited the fire fighters too...

They will be at the hospital for possible psychiatric issues, depression is common.
And though they are not mentioning it, refeeding syndrome and organ damage as they start to add Kcals to their diet. Oh and I am sure a full dental exam.
