Newt said Pelosi has not accomplished anything since the Dems took over |
|
Sorry if this was posted already. I am having internet connection problems and haven't been able to keep up with DU.
Yesterday I heard Newt say that Pelosi and the Dems have not done any of the things they promised they would do in the first 100 hours.
No way can this be true, can it?
Are the Dems responding to this allegation?

The Senate never made any such promises, because quite frankly, Republicans still have a decent amount of power over there. Perhaps Newt should be asking why Senate Republicans keep obstructing the will of the American people?

we passed every one of those bills (in the House) and UNDER the time we projected. If we are talking "NANCY" then she did her job and so did the House.
Of course then Junior (and the intractable Senate) decided to endlessly delay any of those passed bills, just to make us look bad, just becasue they can, and damn the whole country.

15. The Senate has not passed one of Nancy Pelosi"s Campaign |
|
promises. They had better get with the program or they will succeed in losing all future Democratic Elections.
Fox Dynamics Poll shows the Congress(House and Senate) is in th 20s. Lower than Bush.
For the 3 to four days, Part of the News at Fox News is "failure of the Democratic Congress."
Why the Senate while in a struggle with Bush decided to give the Republicans another hot button wedge issue I will never know. Republicans want this as an issue in the next campaign to beat the Dems over the head.
Newt was disingenous when he said Pelosi. The house passed these bills (Campaign Promisies. The Senate heavlity DLC did not. He was correct on the information.
Republicans have targeted Nancy Pelosi. They will blame her no matter what.

29. Look again at the poll results |
|
"Fox Dynamics Poll shows the Congress(House and Senate)is in th 20s"
The Repugs in Congress are at 22% and the Democrats are at 35%.
The reason the Democrats are so low is because they haven't been willing to stand up to Bush over the Iraq war. And that's upsetting more than a few of us. Remove Iraq and I'll bet the Democrats are well over 50%.
"Republicans have targeted Nancy Pelosi"
Good. It will blow up in their faces like it did in 2006.

16. Why doesn't Newt crawl back under his rock |
|
What is his shtick anyway? He makes the craziest, most ridiculous comments in the media--comments that aren't even cohesive or deliver a message. Since he was thrown overboard, he is a pathetic limelight junkie and has become a cartoon character. Not that he wasn't that way before, but at least now only the most hardcore koolaid drinkers pay him any attention.

Wonder if Newt's losing his touch for distortion and double-speak?
If that happens, then he'll only have his natural charm to fall back on.

32. It doesn't matter how big of a liar Newt is |
|
the allegations are all that matters. Just run Delay, Newt, and anyone else out there to slander and make the most outrageous claims. Credibility doesn't matter, either.
Even if the allegations are completely discredited or painstakingly shown to be untrue, people have poor memories and the allegation triggers some reptilian brain reaction and people when then fight and exclude evidence which goes against something they ardently want to believe.
