I had the thought this morning that only republicans can save us.
May sound strange but I was thinking that if the repubs take a lot of seats in the upcoming election we will not have any progressive legislation passed and if they try to pass conservative legislation like privatizing social security, I hope Obama would veto the bill.

So, since we lost the chance for change and will never get it again, the only ones who can save us is repubs who can see the mess this country is in and have a change of heart.

1. You completely lost me in the last sentence. I can't parse it for the life of me.
Please expand that thought - the other sentences made sense, but I think you're leaving something out of the last one. Or else I'm just not getting it.

3. We have lost the chance to do anything about the economy or jobs.
After the Nov elections and the next congress takes over the only way anything will be done about the problems we see is if some repubs want to do something about them. We can't do it alone. I am not saying they will but if some goods comes from the next congress it will only be because repubs helped out.

4. me thinks you aren't thinking this through....
I see your point, but I disagree that they will take many seats, we have lost our chance for change and they are the only ones who can save us. NONE of those are right, IMHO.

6. You're kidding, right?
Have you even listened to what they've been saying?

They intend to finish the job of destroying the country that they were prevented from doing PRECISELY because Democrats were elected.

No, bringing the GOPers back into power will save NO ONE except the vermin and bottom feeding crooks that only seem to flourish whenever the God Damned Republicans are in power.

I'm sorry, no. Bad idea.

Besides, it's going to take a bit more than just two years of Democratic governance, with that heaping dash of GOP obstructionism, to solve a good many of the problems that the Republicans have cursed us all with over the past THIRTY FUCKING YEARS.

The only ones who can ACTUALLY save us is OURSELVES.

7. We can't save ourselves anymore. We don't have the power or the money.
I'm not saying the repubs will save us but since we can't do anything about it they are the only ones who can. They are holding the cards and dealing us our hand.

You watch, there will not be enough of us bothering to vote in Nov to keep them out of power.

I was very aware in 1994 and this feels just the same as then. Then we lost the health care battle to Harry and Louise. We stayed home on election day.

8. +1
There is no way any republican will help out the democrats!

What they want to do, imo, is bankrupt this country so that the democrats won't be able to help the common folks. The modern republicans are strictly allegenced to the industrial/military complex & big profits to be gained by the top 1% & those politically-connected who enable their agenda.

9. One problem
repubs can't have a chance of heart, because they don't have hearts. What they have is a pulsating glob of pus. They will happily destroy the country, all the while claiming that a few more tax cuts, and removing a few more regulations, and privatizing a few more government functions will make everything perfect.
