Pres. Obama: 'There’s almost nothing this room cares about that wouldn’t suffer if Democrats lose.'
from Mark Halperin at TIME: http://thepage.time.com/2010/10/16/obama-down-on-bipartisanship-prospects-in-11/

Pool report of President Obama at Massachusetts fundraiser today, Saturday, October 16, 2010:

___ Sen. John Kerry introduced President Obama with a 10-minute speech. He joked that there were so many physicians in the house – that includes the host – that the DSCC should be renamed “Doctors Sending Campaign Contributions.”

Kerry recalled tears in his eyes the night Obama got elected. Hopes were high. But optimism is being tested by hard times. “Facts, science, truth seem to be significantly absent from what we call our political dialogue,” Kerry said. “… The president is fighting to bring us back from literally the brink . . .”

“There’s almost nothing this room cares about” that wouldn’t suffer if Democrats lose, Obama said. “Not one of these issues will we be able to make serious progress on, if we do not have a strong Democratic Senate.”

“I’m confident that if we move forward, the worst is behind us,” but that, he said, “requires me to have a Congress I can work with.”

No matter. Here's the quote(s) as intended:

"So there’s almost nothing this room cares about, from how well the financial regulatory reform bill is implemented to how health care is implemented to whether we have an energy policy to whether the investments we’ve made in higher education continue to our ability to manage these incredible international challenges — not one of these issues will we be able to make serious progress on if we do not have a strong Democratic Senate."

"And that’s why I need all of you, regardless of what cable news says, regardless of what you’re reading in the papers, I need all of you to be hopeful and act with confidence that the American people, as shaken up as they’ve been, still want us to move forward."

"And if we can get that message out, facilitated in part by the extraordinary contributions that you’ve made today and that you’ve been making for years, if we get that message out, then I think we are going to hold onto the Senate. I think we can win the House. And I think we will continue to make progress."

11. Republicans have successfully blamed Obama for their mess. I
just wish the people were smart enough to see what these right wing bastards have done to our country. . .

The outlook for this country is very bleak if they regain power. More tax cuts to the wealthy bastards that sent our jobs overseas and the end of social security is in sight. . .

12. same old song and dance....
Rather than solving the nations problems, politicians habitually serve up fear of the other party making them worse. EVERY SINGLE ELECTION.
