Now even Justin Beiber is being targeted by homophobic abuse.

TMZ is reporting that Justin Bieber, who was recently here at a state fair in Vermont, was at the receiving end of a bully using the same kind of homophobic epithets that are commonly used against so many school children these days. The incident occurred during a laser tag match on Friday night.

During that match, Bieber was called a “faggot” by one of his opponents, who apparently specifically kept targeting Bieber. When Bieber got frustrated by the fact that he was being cornered by this kid, Bieber said “That’s enough”, and the kid responded “What are you gonna do about it, faggot?”

A shocked Bieber is reported to have said “Excuse me?”, and the other kid is reported to have said “You’re a faggot.” When the other kid put out his hand to Bieber, the singer pushed it away and left. While some are reporting that Bieber struck the other boy, that has apparently been proven to have been false, though there are probably more than a few people who would have thought that he would have been perfectly justified.

Law enforcement are investigating since a complaint was file by the other boy’s father who apparently told people “I’m a lawyer.” He may end up regretting that since apparently police already know that Bieber was not the instigator in the incident.

Before people say anything I do not really care that he is an untalented singer with a bad hair-do that has managed to hit the big time, homophobia needs to end.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable but the Right Wing is trying to prevent any anti-bullying legislation because it includes gays. So very Christian of them isn't it?

2. I honestly have a problem with the fact that....

homophobia is taken more seriously when it's directed at a straight person than LGBTQ folks.

I've been out since I was 13, and my parents attitude was that any homophobic bullying I received was my own fault for being openly queer. However, when my brother was the same age I was when I came out, he had a friend who started teasing him, took it a little too far, and started implying he was gay.

My parents called the school, made a big fuss, and the kid was suspended for three days and forced to write an apology letter.

They never lifted a finger to help me when I was being called a dyke by my classmates.

I'm not saying what happened to my brother was right, but the difference in how my parents reacted hurt like hell.

3. The homophobia I suffered as a child is very hard to look

back on. I can hardly talk to some of my relatives in Cork and Boston. I just find it easier to dismiss them out of my mind.

image he has, but he sure doesn't deserve that kind of hate. I have to say, I feel for the kind in this case.
