Republicans Are Crazy
I was at Amazon.com looking up a book. While there I saw a number of books, written by Republicans, claiming that liberals had bankrupted America. That is just silly in that during the past ten years there was been a Republican President for eight years and a Republican controlled Congress for six years.

During George W. Bush's eight years as president three million jobs were created. That number makes President Bush the worst president in terms of job creation. During Bill Clinton's time as president just about three millions jobs were created per year. Throughout Bill Clinton's eight years in office about 21 million jobs were created.

The job creation comparison can be expanded to become a comparison of Democratic and Repbulican presidents. If done on a per year basis almost every Democratic president created more jobs than every Republican president. Even on a percentage basis the Republican presidents do not too well.

President Bush and the Republican Congress's record on fiscal responsibility is just as bad as their job creation record. During his first six years in office President Bush did not veto a single appropriations bill. When President Bush took office the national debt was about five trillion dollars. By the time President Bush left office that number has risen by about four trillion dollars to about nine trillion dollars.

If any book needs to be written it should be entitled "How Republicans bankrupted American and How They Will Do It Again if Noone Stops Them". It was President Bush and the Republicans in Congress who spent years wasting tax payer money. Like President Bush at the end of his presidency it seems that Republicans are trying to hide their record of wasteful spending.

3. It pisses me off too!
When I walk in the bookstore, they will have the liar books up front. Sad, but we just have to keep educating.

4. actually, Bush only created 1 million jobs.
the Wall Street Journal lied or had a typo, and said there were 135.5 million jobs at the end of his term. Actually, the correct figure is 133.5, so he only created 1 million jobs.

Ron Brownstein notes Obama will have created more jobs in 2010 than Bush did in his whole two terms.
