Is the Bush Administration worthy of spreading democracy around the world? |
|
Let's see here...
While they talk of spreading Democracy, the Bush Administration cozies up with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan, all oppressive regimes.
And then, there's what has happened in the past.
Donald Rumsfeld, became friends with Saddam Hussein during the 80's.
And then there's Dick Cheney, who was so supportive of the White Supremacist South African Apartheid Regime, he might as well have worn a t-shirt to work saying "I LOVE APARTHEID" on it.
So really, considering those facts, what kind of idiot doesn't question Bush when he says "Freedom's on the march"?

They don't believe in it, so how much effort will they put into it? And how successful do you think they'll be?

2. In answer to your question |
|
Is the Bush Administration worthy of spreading democracy around the world?
Sure! As long as "the world" consists of an uncharted desert island where the only inhabitants are the members of this administration, with no tools, means of communication or provisions. Let's see how long "Survivor: the Bush League" manages to hold out! :P

4. "spreading democracy" is not possible by anyone. |
|
Edited on Mon May-21-07 07:12 PM by sparosnare
It comes from within a country, by it's own people. Anyone who believes otherwise, believes our country has it so right that the rest of the world has to live like us or we;ll bomb them, is an idiot. Unfortunately, there are a lot of idiots in this country.

5. 'Democracy'? I thought you meant jobs to countries that don't like us. |
|
Obviously, we're all missing out on something pertinent; we all think some countries don't like us.

7. Not worthy. Their definition of democracy is a whole lot |

different from mine. They are probably capable of strong arming their version around the world. Just look how far it's spread here.

9. The Bush administration has never been interested in democracy. |
|
You'd think stealing a democratic election would tip people off.

12. HA! They're not worthy of spreading butter on toast... |
|
During a press conference July 15, 2006 at the G8 summit in Russia, President Bush told President Vladimir Putin that Americans want Russia to develop a free press and free religion “like Iraq.”
To laughter and applause, Putin responded: “We certainly would not want to have same kind of democracy as they have in Iraq, quite honestly.”
