Earlier today, I got a robocall from Crossroads GPS against Robin Carnahan, a Missouri candidate for US Senate. To see if there were access to an operator and, out of annoyance, I dialed '0': the call then switched to a message that stated approximately "that xxx-xxx-xxxx (my number) has been removed from the call database." If that message can be believed, that is a positive development.
However, being intrigued by this level of responsiveness from a robocall, I looked up the website for
Crossroads GPS, purportedly
a 501(c)(4), (202) 706-7051.
There, I found that their directory and voice mail is apparently exposed. The extensions seem to be for real people; for example,
Ext. 107 is for
Steven Law, who is a former Deputy Secretary from the Dept. of Labor (2003-2007) and who is the former general counsel for the US Chamber of Commerce. He is serving as the Director of Crossroads GPS.
Ext. 105 is for
Norm Coleman, the former US Senator from Minnesota, who is involved with the
American Action Network, purportedly also
http://americanactionnetwork.org/content/about">a 501(c)(4). He is serving as the CEO of American Action Network.
Though it is apparently old news that
Crossroads GPS and American Action Network are "sharing office space" "across the hall", is it common for such organizations to share a phone number and a voice mail directory? Also,
if one of the organizations is found to have filed for status improperly, would this sharing of office resources be enough to effectively link the two organizations and demonstrate that the other organization is also improperly classified?
Any constructive commentary would be appreciated.
