When life starts imitating fiction too closely |

Tao late-seventies novels, Robert Ludlum's "The Matarese Circle" and Trevanian's "Shibumi" both had as their basic premise that huge multinational corporations, wielding huge unassailable financial clout, felt they could do a far better job of running things than any government, including ours.
After seeing the few revelations about the Chamber of Commerce, and who is funding them, it appears that Ludlum and Trevanian had a lot more prescience than anyone ever thought possible.
