The Morning Joe crew doesn't seem quite so perky these days
as the numbers and Democratic polling surge has become a reality. As Chuck Todd was serving the reality there was a "deer in the headlights" look for both Mika and Joe. Chuck was disgusted, to say the least, but he had to report on the numbers. I was waiting for him to spit as he had to report on the great improvement and ties that Dems are presently holding. Mika and Joe were saying little to nothing so Chuckie went on to his "what ifs." IF this happens and IF that happens the repubs will be fine, but.....

1. Have to start the tivo from the beginning
There is one constant. Buchanan can defend the indefensible and justify ANYTHING. I'm amazed.

I wonder how proud Mika's dad is of the spawn of loins. Spoiled dipshit, imo. Ha! and opinions, I have a million.

2. I think one of the things that has brought home this reality to them
Edited on Fri Oct-22-10 07:53 AM by monmouth
is the huge, and I mean huge crowds that POTUS attracts. This goes so against their meme and they cannot use it any longer. There is no "enthusiasm gap"...the President is extremely popular still...poor thangs...LOL.

4. I love it to see the crowds and the faces
When the Prez shows up. The other beautiful part is that HE really enjoys the people. Not admiration - I can't think of the word. He's not dazzled he seems to genuinely love being with the people.

9. You hit it on the HEAD, Mad!
I was one of the adoring throngs in HecEd Paviion on the UWash campus in Seattle yesterday. He seemed humbled - almost embarrassed - by the incredible outpouring...especially at the beginning, when it was Sen. Murray's turn to be in the limelight. But it was obvious there was a mutual energizing, and he was SO engaged and focused. He was by no means giddy, but seemed genuinely to be "present" with us, and very happy to be working hard at coming out for these great Dem candidates! I LOVED it!!!!!

5. Another thing is that many of those who vote Democratic:
the young and minorities - don't have standard land-lines and can't be polled like rich, old white people in the 'burbs.

6. Are the polls changing that much in the past few days? I don't see the evidence.
I know here in IL it's a toss up for senate and governor. We might lose President Obama's senate seat. That's not good news.

7. Glad I tivo'd this
I find Mika Mouse to be the most animated this a.m. than I've ever seen her. She actually voiced her opinion that the stimulus worked while joey was yada, yadaing to the contrary.

Joey - is so full of himself as always but, for some reason today, for me it seems to be more than usual.

Does anyone get the feeling that there is something else going on between those two? Not an affair but, maybe they played dr. once or twice after work and a few glasses of wine. Sheesh, I can't believe I even wrote that.

10. Mika stares at Joe just like Nancy Reagan stared at Ronnie
imo. So yes, I agree with you that something is going on. :puke:

11. One day they might actually have to admit two things:
1) Sarah Palin is a clown (no offense to actual clowns)

2) President Obama saved the economy

I won't hold my breath though.
