6. I'm bothered by a viewpoint that says vote out the infidel--

because I'm an infidel. Would I be disqualified from office for being atheist? If people thought my beliefs defined my character, their attitudes towards my viewpoint could derive from a bigotry against my views, as opposed to any thing I materially did that would give a better view of what my character is.

One man's infidel is another man's brother. I checked Rep. Ellison's voting record and ratings with one of my favorite sites: votesmart.org. He has pretty good ratings on civil rights and women's issues and social issues. I think it's what a person does that tells you their character. He's okay by me. The Tea Partiers are not.
