CBS' headline: Stewart rally "attracts moderates"
Edited on Sat Oct-30-10 07:53 PM by Valienteman
Did they conduct a poll or something? What if most in the rally are liberals? Or what if there are 40% liberals? Why not say, "attracts moderates and liberals"? The media would never accept that liberals could assist en masse to a political demonstration. It has to be either wingnuts or "moderates".

5. I guess they took another of their "POLLS"
I mean the people at the rally carried their land line phones with them so it made it easy to do a poll. I think these people are pass being a joke. I still say the reason they kept saying and still keep saying that republicans were ahead, is because they know which machines are already programmed for republicans.

6. If you don't have a clear message/banner for your newsworthy gathering of people
rest assured the media will invent one for you, with a slant that suits them.

8. Liberals are only a fringe group of lunatics.
Teabaggers are the American mainstream. Can't you just accept the corporate media narrative?

10. Statistics will tell you that it also attracted conservatives
Perhaps that should have been the manipulative headline chosen by CBS?

12. that description will likely be criticized by the right
Edited on Sat Oct-30-10 11:27 PM by TheWebHead
I think the preference of those who gather for some sort of political or quasi political event is that they're viewed as moderate, whether you're on any political fringe you want to feel like you reflect the views of the general public or at least you would be if everyone else was more informed. It's like when right leaning media critics frequently point out stories which describe a politician as a "conservative republican" while rarely using the "liberal democrat" label.

13. Must have been moderates.
There was no violence. And we all know it's the liberals who cause violence, whether we're attacking them or making them attack us.
