The Election Nighmare Scenario
Live on the east coast?

Plan on sleeping on Election Night?

Try not to think about the fact that it's not at all unlikely that control of the Senate will come down not only to a late-reporting Alaskan Senate race, but the verification of write-in ballots for a candidate with a tricky last name.

It's also not outside the realm of possibility that if Democrats overperform a bit, we could be waiting up until Hawaii counts its votes to determine control of the House.

1. Actually, that IS very unlikely.
We should hold 54 or 55 Senate seats.

3. 54 or 55...
That would be great news... but "should" is a bit of a stretch. For 55, I guess you're assuming Colorado, Illinois, Nevada and Pennsylvania?

4. Illinois and one or another of NV, PA, or CO.
By my quick count if we keep the seats we're winning, and any given two of those four, we have 55. It's really fucking hard for us to lose the Senate.
