A Email forward to me that hurts like hell shades of when I came home
You All Know I fight against this war. But This Email sent to a goldstar mother is just hurtful.

Send By A Mark E Melancon

Here is the message
Puhleeze, offering comfort to mothers whose childern were killed while fighting an illegal war. Never.

Those fools got exactly what they deserved and I can only hope and pray that the tears of their mothers will form a flood of biblical proportions but NEVER find any comfort, solace or peace.

If these "mothers" were truly concerned with their childs wefare, then they would have protested sending them to fight in an illegal war. THEY DIDN'T and GOT WHAT THEY DESERVE.

I hope this mother's day and every subseguent one will reopen the wounds and overwhelm these stupid bitches so that they end up taking their own pathic and worthless lives!!!

Sincerely
Mark E. Melancon.

WHY WOULD SOMEONE BE SO DAM HEARTLESS?? WOW this is the crap they send my mother when I was wounded in Vietnam. Guys we don't do this do we?

What kind of cold-hearted bastard would send out something like that? Why bother to oppose the war at all if you don't care about the families of the people who were killed? If you didn't protest against the war, you deserve it if your child is killed?? This Mark Melancon guy needs a good ass-kicking for being a mean, cruel asshole. (That is, assuming the letter isn't the work of a freeper plant intended to make antiwar people look bad.)

6. Well I certainly don't agree with this entirerly however ...
Edited on Tue May-22-07 07:26 PM by dicknbush
I do believe that since this is an all voluteer army that if you choose to join you are joining an organization whose basic purpose is to teach human beings how to kill other human beings which I suppose unless you are a true pacifist(and if you are of course you wouldn't be joining the army) may have its place in the scheme of things but when you have been made aware that the enterprise that you are participating in is in fact illegal immoral and that you were told to go and kill other human beings under false pretense then it is your duty as a human being to refuse to fullfill your obligations as you are being required to in effect commit murder for a lie! I am sorry that these mothers will have to live with that for the rest of their lives their children died for a liar and a fraud! Could you just Imagine....Every soldier in Iraq standing up and saying NO I will no longer kill for a liar. The war would be over in an hour and just imagine the good will that would spread around the world...That in our democracy the common man stood up and said ENOUGH ENOUGH!

9. Most of these are KIDS
We send children off to fight wars and yes, it is an all volunteer military but a lot of people were caught up in a frenzy of fear and anger after 9/11. These mothers do not deserve this and neither did their children.

11. the basic purpose is
"to defend the Constitution of the United States of America, against all enemies, both foreign and domestic"., not to kill others in a war that is based on lies....

13. Well if this is true then they should pack up come home and throw Bush out
Then they trully would be preserving and defending the constitution but right now they are following orders from a war criminal as far as I am concerned!

15. Disagree
You are correct it is an all volunteer army and no one forces them to enlist. But you have to realize alot of these young kids who enlist come from low income families, live in areas without much opportunity and the military may look like a way to a better life. The military recruiters, go into schools telling impressionable kids they'll see the world, pay for education, life long benefits, etc.

I'm sure most of those that sign up have the best of intentions and unfortunately don't realize when they enlist, the president is a mad man sacrificing their lives for lies. Alot of our fighting forces have come to this realization however the military teaches you loyalty. Even if they disagree with the mission they are part of a cohesive unit and will do anything for their comrades. I know because my husband spent 21 years in the military.

Your suggestion that they all stop fighting in unison and walk away and the war will end, is a fantasy. Not following orders or "dereletion of duty" will land them in military prison.

14. On another forum, someone just reported that a relative, who enlisted 7 months ago, was injured
in an IED explosion.

Of course the chorus chimed in with great regret and prayer offering and I would have joined them, had it not been for the 'enlisted 7 months ago'.

I'm sorry and perhaps many of you will think I am "sorry", but I can't muster up much sympathy for someone who enlisted in this illegal, barbaric war that has killed 100's of thousands innocent civilians.

16. Mark E. Melancon died in 2/1982 Thunderbird pilot who crashed
Edited on Tue May-22-07 09:47 PM by uppityperson
Google is interesting. There is another Mark Melancon that has left condolence messages at a funeral home also. Odd.

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,954982,00.html?promoid=googlep

The sky was clear last Monday morning as the Air Force's crack flying team soared above the Nevada desert, practicing its stunts, which have caused gasps at aerial shows for nearly 30 years. At exactly 9:55 a.m. the four Thunderbird pilots went into a "line-abreast loop," a maneuver in which they roar along, wingtip to wingtip, about 100 ft. off the ground, zoom up to 2,500 ft., loop backward into a dive at 400 m.p.h., then pull out when they get back to 100 ft. This time they did not pull out. One jet hit the ground and the other three, locked into their now fatal formation, followed within a tenth of a second. They exploded in a ball of flame that one witness likened to napalm explosions he had seen in Viet Nam. Dead were Major Norman L. Lowry III, 37, the Thunderbirds' leader, and Captains Willie Mays, 32, Mark E. Melancon, 31, and Joseph Peterson, 32.

Nothing about the crash added up. The pilots were among the Air Force's finest. Their T-38 Talon twin-jet trainers are so easy to steer that flyers call them "baby buggies," and the line-abreast loop, spectacular as it looks, is a fairly routine maneuver. One speculation: the leader may have misjudged his altitude or speed, and the other three duplicated his error. Thunderbird Capt. Dale Cook was flying solo that day. Says he: "I really can't speculate on what may have gone wrong. When you are flying in formation you are not just watching the leader. You watch your instruments, air speed, altitude, the other aircraft and where you are relative to everything else." An Air Force board of inquiry will take weeks to determine the "probable cause," and officers are not ruling out a mid-air collision, though eyewitness accounts contain no hint of one.

Some of the 80 shows the Thunderbirds had been scheduled to perform this year in the U.S. will probably be canceled. The Air Force, however, has no thought of disbanding the Thunderbirds, despite the risks and deaths. Seventeen pilots have been killed in accidents since the Thunderbirds began flying in May 1953, two last year. But the Thunderbirds have enthralled 154 million spectators in all 50 states and 45 foreign countries. Overseas, they demonstrate U.S. aerial prowess; at home, they serve as a flying recruiting poster. Says Secretary of the Air Force Verne Orr: "There will be criticism, that's inevitable. But it won't lead to abandonment of the Thunderbirds."

that appear on TV saying how glad they are their son or daughter was engaged in the "war on terrorism" even though they were killed. BUT, I still do not want to see anyone die or be wounded in this CF nor do I wish anyone to lose a son, daughter, brother, sister, father or mother even if they do support this fiasco.

No, we should never do something like that. Talk about heartless. Also, it is a rather stupid attitude to take with someone who served this country. Never mind who the commander in chief is, it is never right to hate the troops or the families. That's just moronic.
