1. i will be voting tomorrow. instead of focusing on who we have to vote for |
|
and why you may not want to vote for them i am going to look at the two choices and pick the one that is the best of the two. and that is what we all must do.

I would never vote straight ticket. Because, of course, sometimes there is only a choice between R or I. :P

I don't have that luxury. There is not always a Democratic candidate (especially with Judges) to vote for. I'd rather an Independent be elected than a Rethug, in that case!

9. I keep hearing that Texas is slowly turning blue. Is this not true? |
|
I don't believe it is, but a guy can hope...
Too many not-too-bright people down there, trying desperately to live some kind of Alamo-Sam-Houston-John-Wayne fantasy.
We're trying for something that has never really existed down there. Texas used to be heavily Democratic, but they were pro-slavery, pro-secession ConservaDems. What we need is a surge of progressive Democrats to pull Texas into the 21st Century. One of my favorite songs has a line: "Here there are those who just live in the past; they will never let history lie..." (let history go, is what he means...) That seems to sum up Texas conservatives pretty well...

We turned Virginia, Ohio, Florida and North Carolina blue. We can succeed in Texas.
The difficult we do immediately. The impossible will take a little longer...

You know how their minds work (or don't work)!

14. There is no fraud about it. |
|
But to make myself clear:
First choice - the Democratic candidate.
Second choice - an Independent.
If only a Republican candidate is on the ballot, personally, I will not vote for that candidate (which, sadly, happens often in Texas).

Saying "Vote, vote, vote..." will set an alarm in those freepers' minds that you want to vote multiple times even if that's not what you meant.
I fully agree with that we ALL need to vote and get everyone out to vote that we can. The earlier the better, as the earlier some of those vote show up in returns, if it gives us a lead will shape how the "herd" who votes later votes too.

19. In a less important election, I might vote for the republican if it came down |
|
to a choice between a liberal republican or a conservative Democrat.
I did that in 2008 when the state election for Attorney General came down to just such a choice.
But I wouldn't dare do that this year; every Dem vote counts...

21. Well, I guess now I'm going to have to pretend I didn't say it, either. |

Honest, the Dem was a corporate, anti-gay conservative, and the liberal Repub was pro-union, pro-gay rights. I HAD to vote progressive!...
:hide:
I'm a bad Democrat... :-(

There was a time when candidates crossed party lines. Unfortunately, W (The Great Divider) changed all of that. I rarely see it anymore.
So, think carefully - very carefully - before voting R...thinking that candidate will remain Liberal once he/she is in office.
