I don't think the word "Ironic" exactly captures the essence of what I'm feeling right now. Maybe that's because I'm vacillating between shock and total numbness at the moment. The roll I thought the democrats were on has, in the very least, hit one hell of a bump.

I was very much looking forward to this week. Goodling to testify, No Confidence vote on Gonzales...

But Monica is still refusing to provide asked for documents AFTER receiving "limited" immunity, and 'ole Alberto may get a confidence boost because we don't wanna piss off the republicans with this Immigration Bill on the table.

But the real kicker was watching American politicians, of both parties, harrumph at the audacity of Iraqi politicians possibly leaving town for recess\vacations while our brave young men are fighting and dying. The American politicians were making these statements as they were scurrying around trying to make as much compromise as they could before they went on their Memorial Day Recess!!!

And in the end... all they did was to ensure that there would be more and more memorials.
