Kansas Robo-call tells voters they need proof of home ownership to vote |
|
By Eric W. Dolan Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010 -- 9:57 am
Falsely declares election on Wednesday
Kansas Democrats allege that a pro-Republican group is attempting to mislead and intimidate voters with automated telephone calls claiming the election occurs on Wednesday.
The robo-calls tell voters to bring their voter registration card and proof of home-ownership to the polls on Wednesday, November 3rd.
Voters in Kansas are not required to provide those documents to vote and the election occurs on Tuesday, November 2nd. First-time voters only need to bring proof of their name and address, such as a driver's license.

7. Another reason why we need an official election holiday |
|
Then there'd be no question which day is Election Day. It's the one we have OFF to GO VOTE.

10. You know, it's not like this kind of thing hasn't happened before... |
|
Why does it persist? Where are the "authorities" with investigations?
Each fucking election since 2000 has had some irregularities about them. And fraud, as well.
But when this happens, we all stand around scratching our heads and saying, "Wow, who could've seen this coming?!!"

12. I remember in 2000 and 2004 that there was a joke going around the net about "the turnout looks to |
|
be so heavy that voting will be split--dems to vote on tuesday, pukes on wed" (or, if you were a puke, the other way around)
so now, they are doing this for real. .

13. Here is another example where both sides are not equal |
|
Every time Republicans are caught doing something unethical, illegal or just plain assholish, the chorus begins and crowds of pundits and politicians chime in saying "Both sides do it!"
I don't buy it! Every election cycle there are stories of attempted voter suppresion like this happening amongst natural Democratic constituencies. However, I have never heard of Republican voters being targeted like this. Not once.

There goes the Dem sweep in that state.
Really, why do Republicans have to resort to these measures in this state? It's one of the most conservative states and doesn't need this stuff.
More election day fodder to prove the election is being stolen.

That's why people pull these tricks - there's no real punishment even when they are caught.
