Did you vote? What Senator or Congressman did you vote for?
Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 12:57 PM by LostInAnomie
I voted for Brad Ellsworth (IN Senator) and Trent Van Haaften (IN-8th). I was not enthused about voting for either one.

15. John Boccieri OH-16, Strickland for Gov, Fisher for Senate
voted straight Dem ticket(save 1) - even got the sample ballot so I knew what judges to vote for.

The save 1 - didn't vote for the local dem candidate for the State House that endorsed a Republican for Commissioner. He also called the police on the local dem HQ b/c they removed his lit - the guy is a nut and makes Dems look bad.

Edited on Tue Nov-02-10 03:18 PM by cascadiance
as they are in tighter races here. Also sent some money earlier to Grayson, Boxer, McAdams, Feingold, and one or two others that need to fight off the corporate money onslaught...

Only race I didn't vote Democrat was instead of Wheeler I voted for Walt Brown of the Progressive Party. I voted for Wheeler's primary challenger too, and both that person and Brown have been championing a state bank, which I think really should be considered by our State Treasurer soon. I think Wheeler should win or I would have voted for him if it was a tight race. But want to help send a message to him to pay attention to what other progressive candidates he ran against want to put in place.

Voted on my way into work for Michael Bennett and Betsy Markey (CO-4). Conventional wisdom is that Markey is toast (I'm stuck in a fairly conservative district), and Bennett is running against tea-bag nut-job Ken Buck. Wasn't "holding my nose", but I wish that an actual liberal Democrat could win here - instead I get DLC types. Hoping for the best, expecting the worst... :-(

65. Ed Potosnak, NJ-7th
Not a big name person, or one with millions to spend to get well known. An openly gay high school teacher.

From Wiki: He was awarded the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship for math and science teachers.<4> The fellowship is intended to provide an opportunity for teachers to utilize their classroom experience to shape Federal policy in Washington D.C. In his time as an Einstein Fellow, Potosnak worked on education policy in the Office of Congressman Mike Honda (D-CA). After two consecutive Einstein Fellowships, Potosnak served briefly as a Legislative Assistant for Congressman Michael Honda (D-CA).<5>

Was sorry I hadn't heard more about him -- I would have volunteered.

68. I voted for Kent Hargett,
invisible opponent of entrenched incumbent Kevin Brady in this gerrymandered district (TX-8).

There are no U. S. Senate races in TX this year. Our biggest race is the governor's race, in which Rick "Goodhair" Perry will likely be reelected once again- for reasons I'm not exactly sure of, as I'm not sure anyone here can cite a single worthwhile thing he has accomplished as governor. Guess not having a "D" after his name on the ballot is all it takes here...

102. When I vote, it will be for Charlie Melancon and Caroline Fayard
Senate and LA Lt Gov, respectively. Fayard actually has a chance to win, can't say the same for Charlie, unfortunately. My congressman is Rodney Alexander, who is a slug. Unfortunately his seat is about as safe as it gets. Maybe there's a minor candidate that will get my protest vote. Otherwise, I'm skipping that race.

I'm glad Boxer will probably win. (Good God, I HOPE she does) but there isn't too much hope for Meagher. Jerry Lewis has had this seat for about thirty years, if I understand correctly. I guess the majority of voters in my congressional district are incurably stupid.
