http://blogs.chron.com/election/2010/11/video_voting_in_a_garage.htmlIn Rice Village they've been doing it for years. Interesting story. No available public space.

1. When I was a kid, my Mom and dad voted in a little wooden shack with a pot belly stove. |

3. That would be something. |
|
I vote in a public school here, just like I did in MI. Having a unique place to go would be kind of fun.

2. When in Texas I vote in a Dress Shop |
|
A very odd choice, but hey, someone gave up their space.

4. That is an odd place. Do they close for election day? |
|
We had a group of kids playing silent ball (not very silently) in the gym that I voted at.

5. That's where I voted ( in CA ) until absentee voting cut the demand. |

It really threw me for a loop when I first moved here because I had never heard of a polling place that wasn't in public space. Now I'm voting at the fire house.

7. I voted in a garage this morning. That is typical, and it's nice to have the polls close to home. |
|
The garages I usually end up voting in are much closer than the nearest public space, which is an elementary school about a mile from my home.

8. It's very cool. This is down in Rice Village, Houston. |
|
Our elementary school was across the street in MI, and a 2 minute drive (I could have walked if it wasn't raining) here.
