--- Hope is not Lost ---
It may not be a great day for America, but it is a pretty great day in MA. We beat Charlie Baker and Jeff Perry and Sean Beilat. It was far from a sure thing these past couple of months but in the end, we did it.

This isn't the end of the world. Dems still have a senate majority, we still have a Dem president, we can turn it around next time and we can watch these Teabaggers implode over the next couple of years.

And there are glimmers of real hope - Sharon Angle was a loss. Christine O'Donnell was a loss. Joe Miller will be a loss. These were BIG races for the Reps and the Teabaggers and Americans sent THEM a message yesterday.

Hang in there DU.

1. I appreciate your encouraging words...
but we're all just looking for a good reason to drink more. Don't ruin the pity buzz. I'm kidding - not seeing much of that here this morning, and that's good. Thank you!

5. The DU pity party is inevitable, it's the nature of the beast, but the reality is that
power changes hands, it happens all the time, and it's unfortunate that there is so much right-wing support in this country right now, but it's far from unbeatable. And I think we are going to see some ugly situations in the House in the next couple of years with Rand Paul and some of these other newbies and the Republican party.

Don't get me wrong - I am saddened by the loss of Russ Feingold and Alan Grayson - these are good men who truly want the best for ALL Americans - but we are not down and out and we can win again.

4. And CA survived
the tidal wave of money poured into the races of Snarly and Nutmeg.

In many ways, this could have been a whole lot worse.

The Republicans have to do something, not just say no. The Democrats have to do something too - like work on messaging.

And people everywhere who did not vote hopefully will begin to understand that thing are run by those who show up.

7. Unless the media THEY own calls them on not improving anything - and you know it won't - there
will not be any consequences for the damage they will do.
