If they try to impeach Obama, what BS charge will it be over? |
|
Jaywalking? Putting his elbows on the table while eating? Forgetting to wash his hands with soap and water? The whole birth certificate thing? Sleeping with a black woman? (hey I wouldn't put anything past them)

1. Anything they want; whatever a majority wants. |

Impeachable offenses In the United States, impeachment can occur both at the federal and state level. The Constitution defines impeachment at the federal level and limits impeachment to "The President, Vice President, and all civil officers of the United States" who may only be impeached and removed for "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors".<3> Several commentators have suggested that Congress alone may decide for itself what constitutes an impeachable offense.
In 1970, then-House Minority Leader Gerald R. Ford defined the criterion as he saw it: "An impeachable offense is whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history."<

2. Asking Sestak not to run? |

That seemed their strongest one so far.
They will find something arcane, like travelgate - some government minion that messed something up - the government is huge - they can easily find someone, somewhere, who messed something up.
Thanks alot, independents (or progressives, for those who think they should get the credit).

8. Without an independent counsel |
|
they will get nowhere. Thanks to the puke investigations by Starr on Clinton we will not see an independent counsel appointed by an Attorney General again in out lifetimes.
Bush perfected the art of blocking Congressional access to records and I'm sure that Obama's Chief of Staff has a nice long list of precedents to keep the new Congress from seeing anything of consequence.

they really are. On the other hand- considering how incredibly gullible so many Americans seem to be, they'd probably get lots of support.

14. The why won't matter, just the what |
|
And the House will trump up whatever it takes to keep their base engaged, motivated, and noisy. They won't care if it's a quixotic tilting at windmills, they won't care if they lose and they look incredibly stupid. They will be heroes to their nutjob base, who will pump up the volume and enthusiastically support them, whether they have jobs or not, whether they have health care or not, whether they have social security or not, whether they have Medicare or not. Their base voters will love their Republican House, and the Republican leadership will unapologetically pursue these futile gestures.
Your assignment: Compare and contrast this anticipated behavior with the actual behavior of the House and Senate majorities over the last two years.

The House impeaches and the Senate tries the president, and in case you didn't notice, the Senate is still solidly Democratic.
Plus, the Senate needs a two-thirds vote to convict on impeachment. So it's a non-starter, unless Obama did something truly bad, and that seems wildly unlikely. He is a very clean politician.

20. by the time these sociopathic bullies get through... |
|
...with Obama--screwing him seven ways to Sunday (in public and behind closed doors) Obama will probably volunteer to be impeached.
In about ten minutes, we'll hear a speech from Obama, telling us that we need to "work together" and come together in a "bipartisan fashion".
And from behind closed doors, Boner and the rest of the psychopathic get-along gang will be laughing their asses off and loving the fact that the abuse victims actually believe the abusers for one more round of humiliation.

24. I hope they are not stupid enough to try. But here is one approach |
|
Have you not noticed the Drumbeat in Media. This Admistration is not transparent. What are they hiding???
Here is how and why things work.
Take a story in the Media about Joe Smith. The Media comes out with: Joe Smith has been accused of stealing an apple. They talk on the phone(on TV we see the Sheriff on the phone) If a Lawyer pops up---
At this point only an accusation has been made but the American People if polled will tell you he is guilty as H.. Reality: he has been accused.
Start subpoenas(Legal, there must be something there). Add a SPECIAL PROSECUTOR. American People : ooooh there must be something there, a special prosecutor. Now the Special prosecutor can start adding this little thing and that little little thing and soon it sounds really really bad.
If it does not reach a special prosecutor stage, The Republicans with Supoena Power collect this little discrepancey and that little discrepancy chipping away at the Presidents character.
