Poll question: Will Congress undo DADT?
Will Congress undo DADT in the next two years (including 2010 lame duck session)?

1. I suggest we don't ask, because they won't tell.

3. The lame duck session is the only chance for at least two years. nt

9. Actually, the court case was the only chance and many of us told you that.
But the Obama Administration didn't really want to end
DADT, probably for the same reason the Republicans would
be fools if they ever actually ended abortion; they'd lose an
issue that motivates their base.

12. At times, this administration seems self destructive to me.

As when Eric Holder came out against our pot initiative when that bill was going to take a lot of people to the polls. It was completely unnecessary.

4. This was something I've had a hard time defending.
This stood, and ENDA never came to a vote. My gay friends are distinctly under-enthused. In the past, fear motivated, but when your "friends" are in charge, something other than fear needs to provide motivation. When do we start to get voting for reasons other than fear?

5. That's going to be a hell no.
Which anyone with any brains whatsoever would have known. On this issue, Obama is an idiot. At the very least.

I'm sure they are hoping you don't.

7. It's possible. We only lost one seat in the lame duck, and Snowe/Collins support the policy.
It depends on whether they can be pressured to vote with us on the defense authorization bill now that the election is over.

10. I think they will in the lame duck session. That appropriations
bill with the DADT repeal in it needs to be passed. I think the Senate will vote for it now, and pass it on to President Obama.

11. No. We will.
It's hard to say how now that the Obama administration derailed the effort but we will.

13. Not a good time, there is another election in 2 years. Keep the powder dry ya know
It is like I say so many times on here, time and time again - stick with your principles or you will lose the very things you hold dear.

Your body, your choice is something I hold dear - but folks here sell it down the river on everything but abortion.

Gay marriage? DADT? Screw all that, we have to win elections and you can wait right? If we piss off SOME americans it could hurt us next election round, so let's just dip our toes in the water and make tiny ripples, cause after all - the rights of others can wait.

In the meantime, let's raise taxes on the poor through SCHIP, higher taxes on soda and fastfood, and other things poor people do - and I am sure they will turn out in droves to vote for us because we are doing the right thing for them (just like those religious folks want to pass laws to protect us from the evils of abortion and gay marriage). We know what is best for you, so trust us when we tax the hell out of you to 'save your souls'.

Here's an idea. Help the poor, stop being so damned judgmental, and take a fucking stand on CORE Values - even if it leads to something evil like poor people and others doing things and associating freely with others that you don't like.

Stand for something instead of trying to be control freaks like the RW.

and I fear the USSC... in that respect.
