What happens in 2012 really depends on the economy and messaging

More Dems than Thugs up for in the Senate but a lot of those are from safe Blue States. The economy might be improved but the Rethug house and the Koch Brothers Faux noise machine will do their best to make voters think it's not and blame the Obama and the Senate. If voters think the economy is improving, we hold the Senate and Obama is re-elected if he can successful put the obstructionist label on the house. If they don't think it's improving, it's another bloodbath. 2 years is a political lifetime and we need to get started now.

1. Agree.
Sounds as if you don't think we can retake the House.

3. Taking back the house might possible if he pin the obstructionist label on the Pukes successfully

Worked for Truman but Truman didn't have to deal with the Repuke noise machine and Citizens United. Obama needs new messengers. The Chimp had backdrops with slogans, why doesn't Obama?

significantly enough then Obama does lose and the supreme court goes to conservatives for the next 30 years.

Edit: its why I wish at least Ginsburg would retire now. and that Breyer would as well.

4. I'm with you on the judges' retiring.. just in case.
But I sometimes think if/when Obama has a second term, Kennedy might be ready to retire..

5. I thought the Democratic nominees in this area did
a horrible job of delivering any message, I wanted them to defend HCR (maybe promising improvement) and the stimulus. I wanted their campaigns to talk about the need to move forward. Barron Hill did hammer 23% National Sales Tax proposed by Todd Young but even so my adult daughter thought he meant state sales tax increase instead of an additional tax. I had to point out to her that by the time she gets to take deductions on her child and his childcare she probably didn’t pay 23% and besides that comes out in a painless way before she sees its. It would be far more painful to come out of your pocket directly everyday of her life.
