Can we get this worked up? The House HAS 421 already passed bills on enregy and the enviroment,
Can we get them to the Senate and get them signed before the new Congress takes their seats?

I heard Michael Moore talk about it last night on Lawrence O'Donnell.

They need to make a big deal out of this because it is....it will encourage the dems to keep working. Otherwise it trashes two years of work on good dem policy we waited so long for, and will amount to a big waste of our money to throw the last two years of work in the congress away. It's our money.

It is our business...and we need to protect the money we have spent on good legislation.

Obama needs to do this quickly...and explain all we have accomplished, and that it will be signed before the new congress convenes. Otherwise...he's toast....and wasted the people's money for two years...if he lets all of these passed bills languish. Please kick and rec....so they understand that we are aware of this legislation already passed...just sitting there waiting to be signed.

Thanks, and one silver lining is that many DINOS are gone..and what IS left is more liberal.

1. Maybe if these bills -- and other things Democrats supposedly believe in, such as EFCA -- had been
passed during the last two years, we wouldn't have to do a big last-minute lame-duck push like that.

2. AFAIK they're already sitting on a shelf in the Senate. I'm not sure
just how much you can get through the lame duck session. I know Obama said he wants a few tweeks to the HC law & he also wants them to deal with DADT as soon as the report is received right after the 1st of the year. There will be 1 or 2 new Pubs already in the Senate for the lame duck, the ones who replaced empty seats, and since I can't think of any Pubs who lost their seats and might have no reason to keep fighting the Dems, I don't have a lot of high hopes.

3. The Lame Duck session will get very little done, if anything.
Republians can filibuster in the Senate to keep anything from passing. And those bills are dead once the new Congress is sworn in. My prediction, they go no where.

7. Then don't feel sorry for the dems and they should be removed from office for letting them languish!

10. OK, so Republicans keep these from going anywhere using...

the filibuster, but it is the fault of the Democrats who do not have the votes to break a filibuster?

That is like your employer saying, yes we know he kidnapped you, locked you in your closet, and would not let you out, but it is your fault so we will fire you from your job.

I think we will see another wave in 2012, but I can't even guess which way that wave will break. It won't be because Democrats could not break a filibuster in a lame duck session.

5. We're going to get 60 cloture votes in the Senate?
Apparently people STILL don't understand how our government works. Dumbasses, it's going to get WORSE. And I will say "told you so" every damn day.

8. Then maybe the new repups will go down in flames in 2012 for ignoring the people too?
