More, more, more: My election night Facebook rant.

More tax cuts for the richest 2%, while the middle class and poor pay more taxes and get less in necessary government services. More deregulation for the largest corporations - after all, e coli, salmonella, mad cow -they're just choices you can make with your purchases of meat, fruits and vegetables, or restaurant meals. More "tort reform" so that the laws will prohibit you from suing the corporation that killed your child with the mad cow in your uninspected beef. More subsidies for insurance corporations and no regulations to prevent them from taking more and more money for less and less coverage - and making bigger and bigger profits. And speaking of bigger, up goes CEO salaries! More lobbyists and big money lining the pockets of the person you elected to represent you so that they represent the corporations and the richest of the rich instead; and at election time, you get the added entertainment of attack ads from those same groups to help convince you to vote against the candidate they didn't buy.
But your candidate will tell you that they hate gays and abortion! And they will manufacture fear and anger over non-existent issues and situations...Oh look, it's a death panel! A socialist! A marxist! A liberal...A SHINY OBJECT - OMG!!!
What they won't tell you is that the deregulation they practiced when they controlled Congress and the White House from 2000-2006 is much of what caused our economic problems. The Bush tax cuts for the rich and corporations didn't give us the boom time but a bust instead; and the war in Iraq that was NEVER included in the budget during the Bush years, but was funded through emergency spending bills - all so it wouldn't look like it was costing so much - all of it borrowed.
Congratulations to the people who voted republican. I don't care that you've screwed yourselves - you deserve it - but the rest of us will have to suffer for your weakness to the tactics of liars, charlatans, and snake oil salesmen.
