And what a sweet way to do it.

In fact, California is the only state in the U.S. in which Democrats actually gained in the state Legislature, with the defeat of one of the top Republican leaders of the anti-gay marriage movement in the Sacramento suburbs.

3. You utterly rock.
Since you're pretty much going to have to save the rest of us (please!) by coming up with radical new ideas to combat all of the shit raining down on us, I might as well offer you a big THANK YOU to all of the citizens of California who saw through the lies of this election cycle.

You are pretty much the Britain of today, standing alone against the onslaught of fascism. It's the autumn of 1939 all over again. Dark days. The Nazis have taken over the rest of continent.

So many things START in California and move through the rest of the country. With Brown coming into office, maybe your state can start a renaissance in progressive ideas and actually get them to come to pass.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

4. AND we got rid of the 2/3 requirement to pass a budget
I am so ecstatic I can hardly stand it. Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom at the helm. Imagine green jobs, universal health care... pinch me!
