I had a good idea that it was going to be like this in 2008 when a few of the local Democratic pols who had resisted jumping to the Republican party during the '80s and '90s made the switch when Obama became the nominee in the hope of saving their political hides, even though they were not up for re-election that year. Didn't help them, though-- they all got teabagged during the primaries.

It will be morbidly interesting to see just how far the folks here will ride that crazy train down before they let go-- if they ever do.
