Check those exit polls the Republicans are touting. Check them hard.

When asked "Bush-Era Tax Cuts Should Be Continued For..." here is how the 17,504 respondents answered:

39% said "All Americans"
37% said "Families Under $250,000"
15% said "No One"

At first, it looks like "All Americans" wins. But if you add the other two responses, you get 52% of respondents favoring the expiration of the tax cuts for families making more than $250,000. And with a 9% no response rate, the number is likely a little higher.

52% of Americans favor killing the Bush tax cuts for high-income earners.

That's the talking point...the "will of the people" as Boner likes to say. I've emailed it to my Senator and Rep., I encourage everyone to do the same.

7. If the current Democratic majority votes to kill the cuts for $250k+ earners...
I doubt the President would veto it.

That's what we need to push: the lame duck action. The exit polls give the ones staying a little cover.

3. It's not necessarily a message for Republicans.
They will NEVER, EVER vote to kill ANY part of the Bush tax cuts. Ever.

This is a message for lame duck Democrats and safe ones who are looking for cover to vote for extending the tax cuts only to those under $250,000. Vote the will of the people, folks.

4. That's the wrong 52 per cent
Just to clarify, the people that they want to listened to are just the ones who voted for them.

5. I wonder if they would have an appreciable number of responses if they had put an option like
"Families Over $250,000"

You know there are psychopaths who would have selected that one instead of "All Americans".
