Why in the HELL would we give the GOP an immediate win on the Tax Cuts???
I feel like I am living in crazy land!!!

Why would we even THINK about giving the GOP a early win and extending the tax cuts on the rich?

Is the any better way to say 'The GOP can get things done???"?

Why is this even a possibility?

1. Listening, and doing what they want are clearly two different things.

4. So why didn't the prez "listen" to the single payer folks?
They were shut down before negotiations even began, but the prez will "listen" to the right wingers.

7. I think your question would be better addressed to Congress
They are the ones that write and pass laws.

6. I agree we should extend them for the middle class....
... and if that means a temporary extension on the rest of them, sure. We weren't able to end the upper class cut BEFORE the election, how, my friend, do we do it now?

The GOP has the house, we have the Senate and the pen .... there is going to have be a great deal of compromise in the next two years or our economy will continue to founder. None of us liked Clinton's "triangulation" with the GOP after 95, but the budget surplus didn't create itself.

Obama "manning up" doesn't pay the bills.

5. How do you define win?
Its important to have a definition for such things in politics. I am guessing your idea of a win is different than mine.

10. Some democrats remember 1980, 1984, and the still ever present
resistance in this country to any proposals for increased taxes. There is no easy path. Almost all of Bush's 'achievements' were easy.

9. Why they dont get this thing done while they STILL hold Majority is Beyond Me...Why wait?
If they want to extend them (which is stupid) then break the bill up (one for middle, the other for super rich) and see what happens in the chamber...the democrats will have a chance to smackdown the "for rich" bill and sign into law the extension for middle.

If they wait until January the repubs in House will have one bill that has both middle and rich...obama will be forced to sign the 2 year extension which can be used against him in 2012.

If they dont do anything now they are FUCKED!

12. I think we should stick to the original plan-no tax cut for corporations or those making above
250,000. We should not cave to the wants of the Repubs on this. They weren't elected just because people agreed with them on this matter.
