Unless we can get our own liberal network, we will always beg hat in hand. |

Tired of being at the mercy of these Right Wing corporate assholes that let us occasionally play in their sandbox.

2. Current and Sundance are the most liberal channels |
|
in my cable line-up. Wasn't Al Gore instrucmental in setting up the Current channel? I had hoped it would develop into something along the lines of a liberal political channel, but no such luck. In any event, I couldn't agree more, we need our own inviolate network.

3. Wow -- I just wrote almost the same thing, right down to the "play" part |
|
We need our own version of Faux (only TRULY more fair and balanced). Until then, we'll always have to comment with one ear listening for Big Brother's footsteps.

It really seems like the flip side of Fox only with more intelligent people (I will take Maddow anyday over Beck for example - she is obviously much more intelligent).
I don't watch either much except for Maddow. I have also enjoyed some of the work which Anderson Cooper at CNN has done (he would not let go of the $200m/day story for example).
While not exactly new, the Comedy Central with Stewart and Colbert is hilarious? I don't watch them much either though. I like to read my news.
As for radio no one comes to mind right now. I got to think that once Franken leaves the Senate he will serve as a counterweight to Limbaugh. As XM Radio grows individuals should have fewer complaints about access. You also have the internet.
Limbaugh is a magnificant entertainer, and he has some really smart people writing skits for him. The Right is just as open to ridicule as the Left, and these techniques can also be used by Left writers. Stewart and Colbert do it nightly.
You get listeners - you get access, ratings, advertising, more stations etc.
