Democrats hold on to Arizona congressional seat (Tea Party favorite concedes)
Edited on Sat Nov-06-10 07:34 PM by usregimechange
Washington (CNN) – Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords has won a third term in the U.S. House over Republican Jesse Kelly, leaving just eight congressional races still undecided.

Kelly, an Iraq war veteran and Tea Party favorite, conceded to Giffords late Friday, saying in a statement, "We are blessed by God to live in a nation where we get the government we deserve and the government that we chose. The voters of Southern Arizona have spoken and I respect their decision."

Giffords received 49 percent of the vote, while Kelly received 47 percent...

The tight race prompted MSNBC host Keith Olbermann to donate $2,400 - the maximum allowed - to Gifford. Olbermann also donated $2,400 to the campaign of Rep. Raul Grijalva, who faced a similar challenge in Arizona's neighboring 7th district. Grijalva narrowly defeated Republican Ruth McClung.

6. That was a remarkably classy concession for a teabagger
You could tell where he wanted to go with that "government we deserve," though.

Every win is a great win. Congratulations, Rep. Giffords!

9. She fought her heart out for that seat. Not only did she attack, she followed her attack with
her positive message. A perfect mix.

So happy she won.

10. I never thought of this before
The entire border is represented by liberals. With all the headless bodies and such, you'd think that area would be a Republican stronghold. Not people that are interested in real immigration reform.

12. Last I heard, although crime on the other side of the border is bad
on our side, it's DOWN, not up.
