Poppy's dad, Prescott, got his bank shut down (Union Bank and Trust) by the US gov. during WWII, for business dealings with the nazis, while we were at war with them. Prescott, Sr., also broke into Geronimo's grave in Ft. Sill, OK, and stole his skull, for the Yale club-house. Later, the dinner club tried to pawn off someone else's skull on the outraged Apaches. Geronimo's skull is still missing in action.
Poppy's brother, Prescott Jr., got caught taking money to lobby the US gov., on behalf of the Yakuza, in '92. When he was confronted with the fact, he said he didn't know the companies he was working for were Yakuza fronts, but he declined to return the money.
One of Poppy's sisters hit three police officers with her car, on the way to the '89 presidential inaguration. She was really steamed that they didn't recognize her, and let her through the security check-point.
Bar, the 'silver fox', kicked her co-author Millie, in front of reporters (including Sam Donaldson), because Millie was cleaning herself, and Bar thought it was poor decorum to do so in front of the press corp. Some media call Bar the silver fox, but I've also heard the nick name 'Alan-Hale-in-drag', for confused readers.
Marvin, the shrub's brother, was on the board of the (Kuwaiti and Saudi-owned) security company (Stratesec, and Securacom) that had the security contracts for the World Trade centers, the Pentagon, Dulles airport, and United airlines (The contract ended in mid-September of '01). L'il bush himself was on the board of Saudi-owned Caterair, a company that puts the food on airliners.
L'il Georgie's wife accidentally hit (and killed) her ex-boyfriend, while driving drunk in high-school. It had been a very acrimonious break-up.
The Medellin cocaine cartel in Columbia was set up by 3rd Reich nazis. In the 80's and 90's, Pablo Escobar and Jorge Ochoa were the biggest wheels in the cartel, which was the biggest cocaine cartel at the time (head and shoulders above the Kali cartel). The Medellin cartel was bank-rolling the terrorist movement M-19, in it's efforts to kill students and trade-unionists, though it was described as a leftie organization in the US press. V.P.'Poppy' had fought a turf-war with Al Haig, to be put in charge of the 'war on drugs'. (The outcome of this acrimonious turf-war prompted Defense Sec. Haig to declare that he was 'in charge', when bush family friend John Hinckley (Jr.) shot Reagan. Haig was pushing for bush to get locked up, though he was a bit addled about the chain of succession to the Presidency.)
As head of the Anti-Drug and Anti-Terrorism Task Forces, Poppy presided over such a huge increase (up 500% in 3 years) -- such a huge increase in cocaine smuggling into the US, that crack was created. That's why 'chasing the dragon', which burned Richard Pryor up, became passe. Poppy and his family had (have) large stock holdings in Eli Lilly pharmaceuticals (as did his V.P. Dan Quayle's family). Eli Lilly sold industrial chemicals that were essential to the processing of raw opium and raw cocaine. (Hey, why do you think the Skull n Bonz nickname for Herbie Walker is 'Poppy', anyhow?) When Poppy was president, the Medellin cartel killed a lot of anti-corruption judges and elected officials in Columbia. After the highest-profile bombing of a Columbian judge, Pres. Poppy was forced to announce that he was 'taking action', because he was already on the record as being at war with 'narc-ed up terrorist type-guys'. After the bombing, Escobar and Ochoa's grand-dad asked for a truce, and the next day, Pres. Poppy announced a new anti-drug initiative: targeting middle level couriers and smugglers...
Those are the broad strokes. More could be said, but the picture is already drawn. Nazism, treason, felony crimes. They're just bad apples.
