House GOP leader forsakes tea parties, takes earmark ban off the table
Hey Teabagger, need some KY Jelly? Feeling betrayed yet?

If you ask Republicans around the country, they'll probably tell you that Tuesday's election results were all about pushing back against excessive government spending. Problem is, they may have forgotten to elect anyone who's actually planning on real budget cuts.

Rep. John Boehner, presumptively the next Speaker of the House and a longtime rhetorical foe of earmark spending in its present form, told a Fox News host on Thursday that the proposed ban on congressional earmarks he'd been talking up was officially off the table.

Boehner, who has personally upheld the no-earmark principle, had before the elections advocated a year-long ban on financial appropriations for individual districts. Now he says there will be a "moratorium," but has not said for how long and refuses to hold fellow Republicans to his own standard of never bringing tax dollars back to constituents.

So, why a reversal on the earmark ban? "Only because some things that people call earmarks here, uh, wouldn't classify as an earmark to the American people," he explained to Fox News host Bret Baier.

The refusal to ban earmarks should not come as a surprise to media savvy tea party Republicans. Appearing on Fox News just days before the elections, Boehner repeatedly refused to answer whether or not the party would end the practice, saying instead that a GOP-run House would not conduct "business as usual."

3. Exactly.
The late Ted Stevens and Don Young ALWAYS ran on how much pork they could bring home, and Don Young is even known for hosting community "pig roasts" when he comes back to Alaska to campaign. That's why the rise of Teabagger Joe was such an anomaly. He got thoroughly beat up by both Lisa Murkowski and Scott McAdams on his "no federal money" platform. Federal dollars pay for approximately 30% of the jobs in Alaska and are a real boon to our local economy. Joe's position was a non-starter here except among the most clueless.

11. This will be interesting to follow
Considering how the lectures were handed out quite freely about "unrealistic" expectations to the progressive and liberal base of the Democratic party this past election cycle. When we mentioned that we weren't real happy about the failures of the Obama White House and the Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress, we were sternly told what spoiled little children we were. How will the True Believing Tea Baggers (TBTBs) react when the Republican House majority fails to come through on any or every promise they made to their rabid base?

Will the TBTBs even remember what they were so adamant about? Or will they continue to believe Fox and the Mighty Republican Wurlitzer when they try to tell the TBTBs that they were mad about something else? And if the TBTBs remember what they were mad about, and they insist that the House Republican leadership come through on its promises, will they receive lectures from George Will, Pat Buchanan, Bill O'Reilly and even the Head of The Republican Party himself about how unrealistic they're being, and how they need to grow up and quit wishing for ponies, even if their disappointments are totally warranted given how the Republicans ran in 2010?

5. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! Sergeant Carter!
Earmarks go up.
Taxes go down for the rich.
Deficit goes up with no public benefit.
Jobs go down even further.
The country as a whole continues to decline but at a faster rate.

Why the heck don't the American people get it?

12. I can tell you where this goes ...
The evil liberal ...

Sorry, they NEVER get held accountable for this crape, they just create some other phony outrage that the MSM carries water for, and their obedient little flock gleefully goes barking into the weeds ...

Going into the 2012 elections, teabaggers/wingers/republicans will be chasing their tail on a Terry Shivo type cultural issue, the border, guns, some trumped up war ...

Whatever ...

End of the day, the boogeyman, the liberal boogeyman, is the enemy, there is no truth, no reality, no accountability, no responsibility ...

so much by the Bushites. They would have found out earlier in the game that talk is very, very, very cheap. They only love you when they need you...and then....out the door.

9. Most of the teabaggers were/are
the RWFundies (aka talibornagain). One of my arguments with the local crazy crowd was how many time you going to let the GOP use you.
