It took my all day to begin this thread. |
|
I don't know if anyone has posted on this topic yet, but ...
This morning, while getting ready for work I happenned to catch the "Morning Joe Show" on MSNBC. I caught a glimpse of Eugene Robinson on and someone else that I did not recognize. I usually agree with Robinson's take on things (and when I don't agree, a can see how he came to his conclusion).
But this morning Joe was praising Bush for being less divisive (I suppose, I missed the first part) and said that "it appeared less divisive because Bush had the support of Red America ... (President) Obama just doesn't connect with Youngstown, OH or Montgomery, AL ..." He went on and on talking like this ... and I fully expected Robinson to cut in and say, "You mean Bush had the support of redNECK america, right?"
So imagine my surprise when all Robinson added was "Yep ... Yep ... Yep."

1. I think I am most offended by the stereotyping of the rest of us |
|
...by that tiny group of people we think of as the Washington chattering classes. How would they frickiin' know us? They never get out of Washington. That said, I'm saddened and surprised that Eugene Robinson joined the chorus and didn't object to Joe's nonsense. But then, I'm always growling at how polite the Liberal commentators are to the right wing bozos.

2. Didn't see that, but... |

I had to turn off Dylan Ratigan because the panel there was discussing the different speaking styles of GWB and Pres. Obama. Most of them were PRAISING Bush's "down to earth" speaking style, and frowning upon Obama's "professorial" speaking style. I believe that one panelist used the phrase "speaks from the heart" referring to Bush and "speaks from the teleprompter", referring to Obama. I didn't know all the guests, but there was only one that I heard who seemed to realize how ludicrous the comments were. I can't believe that anyone, even a Bushie, would EVER think that Bush was a talented speaker! It was too much for me. I had to switch to reruns of SVU to keep from screaming.
