MOVE TO AMEND (against Corporate "personhood")
Sign the petition:

Motion to Amend

We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United, and move to amend our Constitution to:

* Firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.
* Guarantee the right to vote and to participate, and to have our vote and participation count.
* Protect local communities, their economies, and democracies against illegitimate "preemption" actions by global, national, and state governments.

2. thank you.
I got it off of FB.

Some people think this is an "old subject" - but I think it's still very important.

If 250,000+ people can sign the petition for Keith Olbermann, then they can sign this!

7. yes, it should.
Odd it's being unrec'ed here on DU.

(I've often wondered, do trolls actually contribute in order to be "legitimate" trolls??? Or is it a more personal "unrec" - you know, those people who "don't like the poster so they unrec everything they post regardless of what it is" ?? pathetic. I will not unrec a "good post" of even those I disagree with the most! )

9. Unreccing
-I think often is done by accident, but I have always wondered about lurkers who really don't belong here....some days are strange. :) The same subject on another day may have more recs....

4. I accidentally touched "Unrec" and I don't know how to change it. Sorry.
I'm surfing DU on my iPhone and accidents happen.

I think this is one of the most important issues we have: reversing corporate personhood.

8. Thanks for trying!
I have occasionally clicked "un" when I meant "rec" - but I always try to say so.

You're right this IS a VERY important issue.

Corporations are NOT PEOPLE!!

10. Yes, K&R, and two things:

This organization is working toward the same thing...perhaps they can join forces?

I posted about it a few days ago. There are some good ideas about this issue within this thread if you can sort through the muck of where it goes off track (as seems to be the case more often than not).
