Weren't Jon Stewart's childhood heros Eugene Debs and Norman Thomas? |
|
You know the Socialist Party's Presidential nominees? You know Eugene Debs who said "The most heroic word in all languages is revolution."
Aren't they, you know, a little far-left? I wonder if Jon Stewart thinks they're just as bad as the "far-right" and if so why doesn't he have some more moderate heroes?
Or has he, in the word of Phil Ochs, grown "older and wiser now?"
Don't even get me started on how I seem to recall him mentioning that his favorite author was Kurt Vonnegut. I guess he separates his literature from his politics.

2. I frankly don't believe Stewart if he said that. |
|
His current attitude indicates he might be more of a fan of Scoop Jackson or Nelson Rockefeller than Eugene Debs; those in the duplicitous middle

3. As was commented earlier, he is aiming for his eventual Tonight Show or Letterman spot. |

Career over convictions.
"Revolution?" oh, my...I must denounce and reject such extremist language. Less lecturing Jon. We see right through your positioning, joke boy.

5. I believe he said in an interview with Rolling Stone. DU was quite elated about it at the time. |
