When wealth is distributed widely, everyone in the distribution benefits. That's more or less where liberals want to see it go.

When wealth is tightly held, and studiously amassed, by a privileged few, only the few benefit. That's more or less where the apolitical megarich want to see it go. They have sold an illusion to the conservatives and have them working against their best interest in service to the megarich. The megarich spend what they need to maintain this illusion.

It isn't wealth that is the problem. It is the holding of that wealth that is.

The world is very sick right now. It isn't simply the US and our system. It is global.

Thinking these thoughts is not unlike the contemplation of eternity or infinity.
