Socialist? Communist?" Is it just because the "N" word would get them bad press? |

I'm really getting tired of the RW calling Obama and virtually every other Democrat and Liberal communists and /or socialists. I guess Nazi has become passe and they're reaching at this point.
If they knew one thing about either they would know damned well they aren't either. Me? Maybe, I'll take the S name. Our elected officials? I wish.

2. Obama brings out a different crazy than Clinton, no question |
|
And it is hilarious that after all his compromise with conservative elements in his own party and attempts at same with the GOP, he gets called a socialist. What is left in the grab-bag to throw at him had he moved hard left?

They are fascists and every other approach to development must be destroyed. They need new enemies - Muslims, liberal, social democrats, socialists, communists. The war machine must be fed.

5. I have no problems being called a 'socialist' |

because that has to mean they are anti-socialists. And, as we all know, anti-socialists are particularly poorly equipped to govern. If the rubes and morons are successful in destroying this country, I'll be having a great chuckle watching these anti-socialists surviving without socialism.

9. I'd be delighted to see this point amplified. |

I'm truly sick of the Limbaugh-inspired demonization of the term. That fat blowhard who lives in solitary confinement with his vault of millions is the quintessential example of an anti-socialist. What's he ever done except divide this country for personal profit?

I remember long ago watching a Seattle rally held by Hilary Clinton after the failed passage of the 1993 health care bill in which some audience members were holding signs accusing her of wanting to implement socialism.

7. Words/phrases must be audience-tested before being added to the GOP lexicon. |

That's the job of Frank Luntz.
Kinda funny how Luntz uses the latest in the behavioral sciences to promote the goals of those who believe the earth is 4,000 years old.
